Dewan Filharmonik Petronas is strategically located between the Petronas Twin Towers and KLCC environment. It was officially opened on 17 August 1998 by the patron of the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra, Siti Hasmah and former Malaysian Prime Minister, Mahathir bin Mohamad. Dewan Filharmonik Petronas (DFP) is a concert hall for classical music in Malaysia which was built by a Malaysian oil company, Petronas. This place is the home of the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra. DFP has a unique feature concert hall.

DFP have welcomed legends such as cellist Mstislav Rostropovich, soprano Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Sir Neville Marriner and the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields, Vladimir Ashkenazy and the Philharmonia Orchestra, Wolfgang Sawallisch and the Philadelphia Orchestra, and other renowned orchestras such as the Vienna Symphony and the New York Philharmonic. DFP has also attracted orchestras from the Asian region including the NHK Symphony and the Singapore Symphony Orchestra.

DFP also plays an important role in keeping traditional artforms alive by presenting dance dramas like Puteri Intan Baiduri, Mak Yong Gading Bertimang, Payung Mahkota and Demang Lebar Daun.
